Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service Vortex Drysuits from Northern Diver
Editorial extract from Fire Magazine, the magazine circulated to all Fire Service personnel.

With the recent flooding problems experienced in the UK, fire service personnel have been at the sharp end in many regions. With the urgency of this situation, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service realised they needed to find a large number of drysuits for use by their personnel in a very short time. Enter Northern Diver to the picture, a company based in Appley Bridge near Wigan in Lancashire whose 22 years experience in producing top class drysuits and other diving and water sports equipment put them in the position to manufacture and deliver 105 Vortex drysuits within 21 days. The situation was urgent and Northern Diver’s reputation of quality and levels of service was important. The 105 suits were all supplied on time with a guarantee of 7 days turnaround on any future repairs needed. Full training was given in donning and maintaining the suits, including minor repair work. As well as supplying all the suits, Northern Diver has also supplied 105 strobe lights and 105 pairs of their durable Kevlar/neoprene 5mm gloves to S.F.R.S.

Alan Paulinski and his team of dedicated officers from the Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service took delivery on December 22nd 2000 at their headquarters.

Northern Diver are certified an ISO 9001 and ISO 9002 quality company and have a group turnover of 3.5 million pounds per year, making them one of the most successful manufacturers of diving and watersports equipment in the UK
